JTeam announces Search Symposium (2nd edition)

October 20th, 2009 by

SearchJTeam is proud to announce the second edition of the JTeam Search Symposium. After the success of the first symposium and the conclusion that there are many different perspectives on search, we look forward to continue the discussion. This Search Symposium is planned for Nov. 12 from 14.00 to 17.00 with drinks afterwards. Based on feedback from the previous meeting, we decided to change the location to the Kloosterzaal at Hotel Arena in Amsterdam.

At JTeam, we still see more and more demand for Enterprise Search within organizations. Our involvement with Apache Lucene and Apache Solr, has really gained momentum, leading to several interesting projects, trainings and contributions. We have released our Spatial Solr Plugin (SSP), a free, standalone plug-in that enables location-based search for Solr and planned our first Dutch public Solr training in cooperation with Lucid Imagination.

But there is still a lot of uncharted territory. Therefore, we decided to center our second Search Symposium around the question how to get the best search solution to meet your requirements. In order to facilitate the discussion we have two sessions lined up by Ruud Kluivers from Wolters Kluwer and Sjoerd Siebinga from Europeana. After their sessions, we plan to have a discussion on your views of choosing the best search solution.
